Operation Principle of OLED Technology

OLED is a solid equipment consists of organic molecule slices, it can emit light after energizing. OLED can provide brighter, clearer images with less electricity consumption than traditional LED and LCD currently used.

OLED is a solid semiconductor equipment, it's 100-500 nanometers thick consists of 2 or 3 layers of organic materials. OLED construction:

Basic layer (transparent plastic, glass,tinsel)---support the whole OLED.

Positive pole (transparent)---eliminate electrons when current passing through the equipment.

Organic layer : consist of organic molecules or organic polymers.

Conducting layer---consist of organic plastic molecules transmitting "electron holes" from positive pole.

Sending layer---consist of organic plastic molecules(different from conducting layer) transmitting electrons from negative pole.

Emitting lighting happens on this layer.

Negative pole (transparent or opaque)---bring electrons into circuit when there is current in the equipment.

OLED lighting procedure

1. There is voltage on the both ends of OLED imposed by the battery or power of OLED equipment.

2. Current passed through organic layer from negative pole to positive pole.

3. Negative pole outputs electrons to organic molecules sending layer.

4. Positive pole absorbs electrons from conducting layer.

5. Electrons integrate with electron holes in the intersection of sending layer and conducting layer.

6. Electrons will fill in electron holes when they encounters each other.

7. Electrons will release energy in the form of photons.

8. OLED emits light.

9. The color of light depends on the type of organic molecules on the sending layer.

10. Brightness and strength depend on the current strength.
